Kelly L. Knotts Kelly is a 6th grade science and language arts teacher who loves to ride with her husband and fellow poverty warrior, Kurt. Kurt & Kelly are also proud parents of their young son & new born daughter. Kelly also enjoys visiting family and friends, running, hiking, and traveling. She and Kurt reside in Vernon, CT. Why is Kelly participating? As a result of the Brake the Cycle ride to Washington, D.C., I learned so much about the injustices of poverty and met incredible people living in that state. It was an experience that compelled me to keep riding to spread the Lord’s message that all His people deserve to live a dignified life and that we as Christians must be part of the solution. My faith has deepened through the reflections, actions, and interactions I have had through Brake the Cycle, and my enthusiasm for riding in the Lord’s name continues to abound.
