Jeanette Beland Jeanette is a 45 year old Metallographer from Somersville, CT in the Diocese of Norwich. Raised in a basic Catholic household where both parents were involved in church activities, and all the children attended Catholic school, her family is one which is close and loving, faithful to the Lord, supportive of each other, and engaged in church and community services. Why is Jeanette participating? Participating in last year’s ride from Manchester to Washington D.C. deepened the drive to continue the work which the Lord has bestowed upon us. The Lord has truly called us and, quite honestly, I did not want to tell Him “No”. In answering the call I have been able to witness God’s handiwork at its best. The team has grown and with it the gifts and expertise to carry out His ultimate plan. Though I don’t know what that plan is, I am awed, watching the reverberations of our little ministry, individually and collectively. While I am still learning about poverty and its effects, I am inspired by this team to “Take Action”. I look forward to our 6 days together and what that will bring, and I thank God for bringing these wonderful people into my life.
