Why is Charlie participating?

It is critical that people are aware of the issues surrounding poverty and to recognize that changes are possible through empowerment programs. Hopefully, our travels and visits to different church communities will inspire people to Think about the issues surrounding poverty, Talk about it, and to take Action in their respective communities. Last year’s experience was both an inspiring and spiritual experience for me as it enabled me to grow in my faith in a ‘proactive’ manner connected to the Social Teachings of the Church. I am also hopeful that my participation in this experience will provide a positive example to my children as they grow in their faith in their future years. Lastly, from a health and wellness perspective, anytime you can combine some good exercise (you have to love those hills) with your faith, it doesn’t get much better.
